After the completion of another successful bizhub BibberChill Festival, Lizette Prinsloo told Smiffie this week that she believes that future festivals should place much more emphasis on food.

We asked LIzette whether she would be prepared to cope again with all the hard work of chairing the festival organising committee. She agreed that it was a nerve-wracking experience but the success of the festival made it all thoroughly worthwhile and she would gladly do the job again if asked.

The committee was due to meet last Thursday. So by the time this issue of Smiffie is available, a decision will have been taken on who will chair the committee in 2012.

Lizette said she believed future BibberChill Festivals should concentrate on promoting food of the area. The 2011
experience showed how important food had become, with food stalls proving the most popular feature.

She complimented her fellow members of the organising committee for their hard work. She believes that by making as few changes as possible in the committee from year to year the experience gained was invaluable and contributed to the festival’s ongoing success.

Her one disappointment with the 2011 festival was that bad weather had grounded the helicopter which had been due to take visitors for flights.
